Barnstormer
Found this in the passenger footwell today. Anyone know where's it from? I have had the carpet up recently. It's black plastic and looks a bit like a hose clip. ATB

Exactly, cos when you wear those 60's throwback garments they can so easily get caught in the pedals I find. R

Justin
Either a mini fire extinquisher or window hammer holder clip thingy for the passenger side footwell I fink. Had one snap off in me old MR2 as well.
adi
It looks like a piece of japanese bondage equipment, left over from some sordid night of adulterous japanese passion on your passenger seat..
Steve Cargill
Terminator is correct - it's a flare holder. My MR2T still had the flare when I got it, they are normally removed before they leave Japan. They are about 6" long and red, I think it's a requirement to carry them over there. Adi - good imagination, very wrong, but very good
adi
I've got the flare in mine, i seem to be missing a bit? Ive just got the six inch long bit but the diagram seems to suggest there is another bit..
Terminator
I have never seen the flare just heard about them, don't all Jap cars have to carry a flare?
Steve Cargill
Adi, I think you grab each end and pull it apart. I'm not sure if it's auto lighting or if you have to strike it. You then put one end in the other and stand it up. It's for when you get stuck in the Japanese mountains. I also don't know what the life span they have before they may become unstable - quite a few years I suspect.
adi
There is only one sealed part.. ie nothing to pull apart .

Rob
The flare is required if you are racing an M3 convertible in an NA supra. Just as the lights go yellow you bung it in his car.
