Another planning permission question

I have a 6ft garden wall (boudary dividing wall to footpath not neighbour) from the front of the house round the rear of the garden. I want to put a garage door at the front which there is space for and put a roof from garden wall to the house to basically provide a garage. Does anyone see anything wrong with this and do you think i need permission?

I know the regualtions state you need it if joining a garage to house or a meter within the boundary property but if the walls there and i just want to cover with a roof and add a door?

The garden wall does not join to the house either.

Hope this makes sense?

Bumwash.

With the wall already there, sight lines would not be an issue, but building in front of the house can often be contentious. Only way to be sure is to download the PLanning Enquiry Form from your local councils website and send it back with the usual £60 fee.

They will tell you if you need to make a full application, plus you can then phone the officer for a bit of a chat.

PS, the best way to get results is to go in hard, tell him / her they are red-tape spewing scum and that you pay their wages through your council tax and that your home is your castle. You'll have them eating out of your hand and no mistake.
