carlmhtt
I had the pistons and rings replaced on my Is 220d by Lexus about a year ago due to a recall problem with the 220d engine. I now have a small oil seep fom the rear engine seal ( crank seal). Now I know you could change the pistons and rings without touching the crank seal but is this good practice or should this have been replaced as part of such a large job? Just wondering whether this is norml practice or not. Cal
absz
on a recall they will only replace the parts that the vehicle has been called back for, as thats what the manfacturer will pay, anything else will be additional
