renegade
i have a squeak comming from the drive belt tensioner pulley have put wd40 on and it stops but doesn't last long . so i think the bearing might be shot so how easy is it to replace the bearing ie what all has to come off. Lude
is yours defo from the tensioner? only reason i say, is because i have a squeek around that area, and wonder how i can find out where the noise is coming from. (i have a new belt)
renegade
well i put wd on it and it stopped as the belt isn't that old as it was placed last year when the crankshaft pulley fell off.
Swampy442
It will be the tensioner pulley, its a common thing.
Chris Wilson
If it's a plastic pulley the bearing is moulded in and not replaceable. Toyota don't sell the pulley on its own, only the whole tensioner arm assembly. Either hope it's a steel pulley where the bearing is replaceable (I keep them in stock), or see Whifbitz, I think they do an alloy pulley to replace the plastic one. renegade
it is a steel pulley going by the rust marks on it

trebor69
Mine squeals like a pig ...... I thought it was a whole replacement pulley ?
jonc
For the metal pulleys the bearing number is 6203-2RSH. I bought an SKF bearing from an engineering supplier for £7.50. If you have a bit of an engineering brain its a simple job. If plastic then like Chris has already stated then a replacement unit will be needed.
