What brakes are you doing bud? I've done front Jspecs and UK specs all round.

I would personally try to get the pistons out as far as you could before taking them off the car as it can be quite tricky to get them out. With them most of the way out you could probably just pull them out.

You need to know I sell stainless pistons and the full seal kits for these.

I can vouch for CW's seals and stainless pins, just done my front uk calipers a couple of weeks ago, fantastic kit, needed my compressor to blow one of the pistons out but the seals were really easy to change. Turns out the passenger front was binding, works a treat now, car feels so much faster (that maybe because I haven't driven it since about August though, my hdi 307 isn't exactly what i'd call a fast car).

I bled my front and back brakes and fully flushed them through with new brake fluid, i used 2 litres but probably didn't need that much.

There are a few threads on here about caliper refurbs, most important thing is make sure there is no corrosion on the pistons or the bores, and keep the pistons clean when reassembling (use brake fluid as lubricant).

Girling red rubber grease is the best for assembling brake calipers and master / slave cylinders, but it's hard to get. Demon Twweks used to list it, but they don't alwys have stock. i but a couple of big tins when I find it. Excellent stuff, but i do a lot of caliper and cylinder refurbs as race cars get done every season.

I didn't remove the caliper when i did mine. Just make sure you get them looking all nice and silver by working away at them with a wire brush... Then brake cleaner to degrease them.

Are you talking about painting them? That's not a refurb bud, a refurb involves changing the seals and checking the pistons etc.
