Monkpower
I agree with Dude. A good MMA class will incorporate everything you need. Great for fitness, endurance and strength.
jazz1
I'd prefer Mixed try joining shoot fighters if you have one near you, some of the guys who train down at London shoot fighters are animals.
DuaneT.Turbo
I used to do a class of BJJ and a different class of MMA, depends what you like, BJJ has a lot of ground work and submissions in it where as MMA has varied ground work and stand up striking. drift_bear
My mates brother teaches BJJ and is willing to show me but I wouldn't mind trying both to see what I prefer. I'm wanting to get my fitness, cardio and strength all up again. There's a lot of guys I used to work the doors with that done it and said it was good aswell. dude
All I would say is that BJJ is extremely good but a lot of the holds etc do rely on a heavy Gi wheres a MMA style grappling will not, MMA will stand you in better sted if you find yourself wrestling a German for a dackchair on holiday while wearing budgie smugglers. I'm leaning more towards the MMA side just now but will see what the guy at my gym says about it. Hopefully there's a beginners class or something so I don't get my a$$ handed to me straight away lol

supra joe
Done both for many years, bbj is incorporated in to MMA, without a GI but is good if your wanting too fight as you don't wear a GI in the cage. MMA. Incorporates mainly thai boxing roman greco and bjj, its a good all rounder and would help you out greatly in a tricky situation. BJJ if your willing to learn and grade can be very rewarding. But the BJJ with and without a GI can be quite different. Will get you fit though as the fitness needed to roll around can be challenging depending on your opponent and tactics. Just ask supra stevo lol.
