This isn't going to be a helpful post but I'm looking at buying a set of these and trying to workout the best offset to fit uk brakes but also getting them to sit nicely with stock arches. So will be interested to see if they do if you buy them!

If you decide against buying them though tell whoever has offered you them I'm interested :D

I'm not sure if the fronts will fit with stock arches. They are definitely at the limit of what the front can accommodate without a roll.

18 x 8.5J et 32

Would these clear UK brakes!?

How do you work this out!?

The offset and width is just an indication of whether there is potentially enough room. The spoke design is what it comes down to at the end of the day though.

Having a width, an offset and a picture of the wheels means that you can generally estimate whether UKs will fit or not.

As Scott says its complicated but what this means ignoring caliper clearance is that the above wheel will stick out 24mm more than a stock 17 x 8" uk front wheel.

the new wheel is 1/2" wider and so a 1/4" (6mm) further towards the arch and 1/4" towards the suspension strut

the offset is 32mm instead of the stock 50mm so this pushes the whole wheel out 18mm towards the arch.

So the smaller the offset the further the wheel and its spokes get from the hub/caliper and so the more chance of a wheel fitting, however the various spoke designs means there is no hard and fast rules on wheel size and offset that clear uk's. Dished wheels on the front usually mean you won't get clearance........look at stock uks and the lexus GS sport wheels and you see how flat/flush the spokes are in order to get the clearance with the stock 50mm offset.
