terribleturner
Ok guys. The actual entrance will be marked up, but to get to Upper Bourne End Lane you can come off the A41, Berkhamsted Bypass near Bourne end. Multimap http://www.terribleturner.co.uk/bovingdon/map1.jpg http://www.terribleturner.co.uk/bovingdon/map2.jpg It's a single track lane so tack it very carefully. terribleturner
Now here is the layout of the track and 1/4 mile for the day. http://www.terribleturner.co.uk/bovingdon/newtrack.jpg OK just been down to the place and some of the movable stalls it seems are not actually movable on the day. This means the track will not be the previously posted one. The quarter mile straight is fine still and the 5 car drag strip will be the same. Video's will be posted soon. Barry
So have they re-surfaced it recently then? It was in a right mess the last time I was on there!!
terribleturner
Will try and pop down there tomorrow and take some pictures/video. The 1/4 mile stretch seemed fine to me when i was last down there. Was that the same track layout you used Barry when there last?? I've not inspected the complete layout yet. cashpoint
Go on a saturday as the Markets on so you can get in without a problem. During the week they lock the gates.
terribleturner
I'll just call the owner and tell her i'm coming down, should be no problem. Plus during the week they use the main part for Wheelie school, so that should be open too.

cornimac
Thanks James... excellent directions and mapping.. Looking forward to it
terribleturner
will you be able to do any top speed runs? I don't think you'll be able to get 170 times as don't you really need a good 2 mile stretch?? But yes you can try your best on the space we have (mile and a half i think it is) The surface isn't as smooth as an active runway, but then it's not full of pot holes and bumps like normal UK roads. Paul if you wanna come along tomorrow PM me your mobile and i'll give you a shout if i go down.
Trig
Quality!! Think the NAs are gonna suffer on the 1/4 and the track tho. thought it may of been a more twisty course so the NA's would have a fighting chance but it still looks
terribleturner
If you like Trig we could put a mini chicane in place on the straights.
kosmic
Really looking forward to this. Are there any noise restrictions?? Was thinking of asking a friend of mine who is going to be running a 1997 Ex-Schumacher Ferrari/judd in EUROBOSS next year to maybe pop down and have a few laps demonstration?? (me at the wheel of course!)
terribleturner
Well the woman said as long as the cars are not too loud, to which i said they're nothing like F1 cars so that's a no to sound restrictions.

Sharpie
Is the... THE WAY IN and the QUARTER MILE STRIP the same vid ?
terribleturner
No the way in is just to show that the road isn't that bad, just a single track. The qarter mile video shows the main section on the day. It also shows some white lines on the floor which will act as the 1/4 mile start line. WELL EXCITED!
terribleturner
I didn't notice any pot holes in the drag line when up there last week and today. there is some slight gravel, but i will be up there early on the day testing the right route Robace is our BBQ man for the day. We will be charging, but the prices will be no where near the TOTB prices last week. The prices are just to cover costs really. Cones, it has been mentioned, but if anyone could pick up a cone or 2 on the way that would be great. It is very exciting isn't it i can't wait now. 10 DAYS TO GO
