Can a mod please delete this thread. This is doing nothing for the Scottish reputation regarding finances.

BTW the smart money says that Geo gave them a quick rub with emery paper and stuck them back in... good for another few k miles, and Swe welded on the bottom of a saucepan to the disc to get him through 2012.

How did that get through an MOT like that?

My Ford Mondeo had a seriously illegal tyre (inside edge worn badly) and 6 holes in the exhaust... oh not to mention the backbox hanging on by a thread (which fell off a week later) and yet still got through an MOT. Absolutely no idea how but it would appear to me that it all depends on how close lunch or finishing time is.

Car is only just over 2 years old bud, from new.

You should have used copper grease on the discs, they would have lasted miles longer.

sure i used it at some point, on what i can't remember :rlol:

The back of the pads usually. If you used it on the disc the brakes wouldn't work..... hence them lasting for miles longer ;)

course i used it on the back of the pads. :p

Funny thing was when i was replacing the rears, i removed the 2 bolts that hold in the caliper, and for the life of me i couldn't get the bugger off, i thought why the hell is this not coming off, my mate had left the hand brake on, DOH!!! Could have punched him at that point. lol
