Stu-R
Alright having a few difficulties with the supras cooling system. On full heat i only get luke warm air out of the blowers, then the other day i had to pull over when i noticed a lot of steam pishing out the bonnet. on closer inspection its coming from the area ive circled red, the green circle is what i think the inlet and outlet to the heater matrix is. Does anyone know what would be leaking at the back of the block? Ive also noticed that the top rad hose is hot and the bottom one is stone cold, i pressume this means the thermostat is sticking? what id like to know is, would changing the thermostat sort my overheating issues and solve my hot air problem or is it a matrix replacement job? And what is at the back of the block where the steams coming from? Cheers Stu

Dnk
Replace the heater matrix hoses which are more than likely where its leaking and fit a new thermostat and rad cap unless you know they have been replaced with o/e parts. At the same time check your rads clear and flush the system through and if all okay refill and bleed the system by running the engine with the rad cap off and heater on maximum hot setting. Once all the air is out check the heater is blowing nice and hot, fill the expansion tank approx half full and replace the rad cap. GTR Fever
the heater matrix hose comes from the back of the engine in the area circled red..had this exact problem with my car recently...changed the hose, replaced thermostat and good to go!..just a warning tho, that hose isn't the easiest thing to change, unless i did something wrong lol
James
Check that your jubilee clip at the red circled section is on nice and tight. Mine was leaking out steam/water and it turned out it was a bit loose. Pipe wasn't perished, though the clip wasn't doing its job.
