pistonbroke
I know some of you are on xbox live, and thought I'd give you a heads up to secure your accounts before you become a victim like I did last night. Last night I was playing BF3 online with a few mates, when a notification came up saying my profile has been signed into another console. I was signed out automatically, so immediatly signed back in. On signing back in, I found all my microsoft points had been spent on something called JUMBO GOLD DLC for fifa 12 (I game I don't even own). Some searching reveals that I'm not the only one its happened too, and it appears that EA servers have been compromised, not xbox live. My xbox live profile however had the same login details as my EA profile, and the scammers know this. They login to your account, spend the money on DLC codes, then sell the codes for cash on Ebay. To secure your live profile, login to xbox live on a pc and change your password, this will stop the hackers getting in and spending money. I was lucky as I caught it as it happened, so my C'card attached to the account got removed before they could spend any money on it. However, Microsoft have had to suspend my account while this is investigated and my MS points are returned, which apparently can take up to a month. So no online gaming for me for a month. Supra-swagger7
Cheers for the heads up dude, just signed in on the pc and changed my password...it takes no time a tool to do and like you said when your account is linked up with our bank or credit card it's not worth risking!! Sorry It happened to you fella, and luckily you were on it at the time an could act straight away! Hopefully they sort it out for you too. Fingers crossed! Supra Gaz
Something similar happened to me when my whole profile was taken, they got in and changed the email address it was registered to so I couldn't even log in myself. Microsoft sorted it though, I even got some free Xbox live points for the inconvenience, though I did loose all of my saves and achievements. SteamAhead
Cheers for heads up. I don't really get time to go on the xbox of late, but I will be changing some details.
