MattP
[bRob;3303760]Ok fair point. Here is the Law...http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/documents/digitalasset/dg_070561.pdf Particularly [/b] This is not LAW this is advisory. The Question is who would be in the wrong on this occation given the facts given to us in this thread, legal precedent from previous cases similar to this one would dictate that the police would be accountable for any accident under the given circumstances, had I been approached to represent the police on this occasion I would be advising they admit Liability and save both the PR of such an incident becoming wider public knowledge. In fact I should be getting paid for this........
erol_h
I didnt have the music loud i hardly ever have the music loud but i did glance to my right but as i approached the roundabout but it being a greenlight i was concentrating more on keeping my van in the lane i was in as its a 3 lane roundabout and alot of people always have a habit of moving across lanes as you go around the roundabout. Yes i could of approached the roundabout at a slightly slower speed but i was exiting off a 50mph road and had slowed down to about 40mph but the officer had no clue i was even there and was pushing hard if i hit them i would of definetly put them in the hospital which is the last thing i would of wanted to do. Errol The Hamster gives exclusive interview..... http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/50356_7415711713_502_n.jpg "It wasn't my fault, honest to God it wasn't." "The roundabout just came out of nowhere!" Close friend and colleague Roland Rat, also present, added tearfully, "I'm just glad the van is ok. I knew I shouldn't have let that Leek nibbling idiot drive it!" Mr. Hamster replied, "Sorry Roland." Scotland Yard declined to comment, pending a review of in-car video evidence.
