Guest Chappylad
I have a 1993 3.0 auto non turbo and I haven't used her in 4 months, I tried to start her yesterday and she was a nightmare to start. Once I got her started she ruin like a bag of cats, the engine management light has come on and the idling is bouncing away. I decided to take her a drive thinking she was just rough from not being used but I got 1/2 a mile down the road and she cut out. I tried starting her and she wouldn't start she just turns over and floods herself. Once she sits she will start,I left her idling and she was running rough, if I try to accelerate she cuts out and won't start, if I leave her idling for a few mins she cuts out and again won't start. I've looked for post of similar problems but can't find anyone with the same problems. Can anyone help ?

Swampy442
You've changed the cap, arm and put fresh fuel in?
Supranature
Check for a pool of water under your cam cover which is shorting the plugs out and leading to a bad misfire
Noz
Need to check various things to locate if its a fueling issue or a ignition issue. Are you sure the engine is flooding itself, as this would indicate an ignition problem. The easiest thing to check it the ignition, like ^^above^^ water on the spark plugs/leads, do you have any engine light codes coming on, or is the light just stuck on? Can you check your fuel pressure. I know it sounds silly, but is everything connected? Maybe worth checking the voltage on your TPS to see if it gives a steady change of voltage when you move the throttle, though the engine should idle on its own and only be lumpy when driving if this was an issue. Just thinking of things to check mate. EDIT: Also try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. I have a misfire, had a stock ECU fault which screwed everything up. This `probably` won't make a difference, but still worth a try, it solved my constant misfire. Tromen
Where is the capacitor located?
Guest Chappylad
It's in the main ecu. He said it was obvious as it had burst and leaked over the mother board.
