Picked up my new toyota parts today (thanks Rinus:thumbs:).

Now that I have the center console part, it's time to start cutting the supra, it fit's nicely, will mount it permanently when I have some sealant:

Great work mate, its gonna be a stunner i bet.

love the black n silver combo on the suspension parts..

Thank you, I am thinking of doing the same with the engine, silver pipes and spark plug cover and black cam covers, see how that turns out.

Very good job !

Thank you!

Now that I don't have to hurry anymore for the Dragonball deadline , and realized howmuch work it is to get to the cilinder head properly, I decided now that the engine is out to check and rebuild where necessary.

So off go the intake parts, to clean and and paint them.

Did the painting today, but wanted to get an idea of how things would look:

This week I got my hands on a used set of Ksport brakes, 356mm discs, so I hope I can brake a little better when the supra drives again, I had Jspecs and these did not feel great.

The orange set is a little older than the black, and the color has faded, so a good excuse to paint them silver ;).

Only need to find out the easiest way to remove the anodised layer, without damaging the seals or pistons.

Also checked valve clearences, all ok.

And removed the paint from the valve covers with paint stripper, did not want to sandblast these because it's impossible to remove the grit that gets on the inside of the baffles.

Nice work :)

Just wondering are all parts powder coated if so can i ask what did you use to mask off the pipes?

Thanks!, they have been sand blasted and painted with a 2 component primer and paint, and before the sand blasting I taped everything off with ducktape, to prevent grit getting in the pipes.

The ducktape was strong enough to survive the blasting, so I did not have to tape everything twice

Did a compression test, and cilinder 3 was not as it should be, even after some oil in the cilinder.

So took off the turbo's, nasty job even with the engine out, and the head.

Cilinders look nice, lots of carbon deposits but almost no wear, only some very minor rust pits if you look very close. Probably because the car stood still for a long time.

Took me some time to clean the pistons and deck, but that is done now.

On the head, there's lot's of carbon deposit on the exhaust valve shafts, because of my leaky valve stem seals I think. But I'm going to have the head cleaned and checked anway.

And, while I had some time left, I made the front brake dust covers fit the larger brake disks.

Thanks to Paul@Whifbitz, I now own a very nice exhaust system, ordered monday, arrived today . The catback was advertised as used, but if it had been for sale as new I would have believed it, it still looks perfect!

On the downside, I have been taking the cylinder head apart and found rust/pits in my intake valves, so will have to see wat to do with the head now, i.e. go for a recondioned or order parts.

It's been a while since my last update :imsorry:, but had a vacation and progress on the car was slow until now.

Before we went on vacation I picked up some parts from JamieP, thanks for them!, and had a nice long weekend in south England.

Also received more new oem parts from Rinus, thank's again, and painted some more parts.

And, although offtopic, we bought a 'new' vacation car, a rwd ford transit from 1980 in ambulance trim, that had some consequences for the supra....

Then, when we came back from vacation last week, the Ford had to be put under the carport, where the supra stands, without it's suspension and wheels....

So put the supra back on it's wheels, I now had all the parts because I painted them before the vacation, clean out the garage , and put the supra in the garage.

Now I have the whole winter to put the engine back together and in the supra, so I can finally drive a 6spd next year..
