Dnk
Thought i'd post a few pics of my business partners CB750 were restoring. This has been stripped down to the last nut and bolt and is now going back together. Powder coated frame/swingarm etc, fresh chrome work and mirror polished alloy parts, all new nuts/bolts polished st/st wheels/spokes etc Thanks to Ibrar for the powder coating

Robzki
The main thing that is stalling my project and when I say stalling I mean not starting, is the price of the exhaust £1269+vat I think someone has done a good job of ratting the bike in the past so it is an unviable project financially but it is very sentimental to me as the last thing me and my dad were talking about 2 days before he died. He was going to ride it the 750 miles to give it to me. I'll get the strength and the money to do it one day.
Dnk
That looks great, any other updates/inspiration? Have you got any before pics? I'll have a look for some pics before it got stripped. Heres a few more and its just about ready for the motor to go in. We were going to strip the engine but we did a leak down test on it and it seems to be perfect so it'll go in with new fluids etc and see how it runs. Not sure on paint colour yet but its possibly going to be an original Honda colour candy red

Robzki
Its a '72 cb750 k2 but it needs new rims/spokes, exhaust complete as someone has gone 4-1 in the past, new bars, clock mounts as someone has made a dire alloy mount, headlight 'ears', seat, rear shocks and mudguards. that is off the top of my head but possibly more. It does sound worse than it is and I'm sure that a few late evenings on ebay will bring up most of the parts fairly easily, its the exhausts that I really want in oem before I start buying the rest. I also have a '73 cd175, '81 gs750l, '85 xj700 maxim x '89 pacific coast 800, '89 gpz1000rx and a '95 gs500e. They are in all sorts of states of repair. It is the cb750 that means the most though, just wish I could warrant the money for the exhaust atm. Thanks for the pics, love looking at stuff like this. Don't know how I missed this post before. garethr
I wouldn't worry about the details, Rob. Do all the important stuff, then non-original bolt-on stuff like exhaust, mudguards, brackets etc. can be replaced as and when. Plus, if it's on the road, and you ride it to the right places, you may make useful contacts, or meet people who have bits in their sheds. 1972 is still pretty early for a UK 750, you hardly saw them back then. Robzki
Thanks for the words of encouragement mate I'll put some pics up at some point. Everyone keeps telling me to put it on the road and to just enjoy it. I may take the advice at some point.
Dnk
Would the exhaust from a K7 fit ? We have a full set that are in very good condition and will possibly be forsale in the near future Are you sure about your price as im pretty sure we can buy a full system for approx £700, its exactly the same as what you'd buy from Honda but without Honda's price tag. Robzki
Thanks for the offer Dunk, I've looked at part numbers and they appear to be different. This is the complete set that I need: http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K2-FOUR-1972/part_104943/ They do a non genuine one: http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CB750K2-FOUR-1972/part_188989/ but I would still need the rest of the parts to make complete, the collars and heat shields etc that soon mount up. If you have any other spares that you have replaced for better items let me know as I'm sure a lot of them must be the same. thanks again Rob
Dnk
We've refurbed most of the parts to be honest so not got much in the way of spare parts. Here are the engine casings all polished up
