NA appreciation (by NA owner)

LOL that thread is the whole reason i will not do a project thread again, people jump to quick onto the 'i told you so' bandwagon, its like all the people that said i could not do a low 14 second 1/4, fair enough i didn't do it, however when you look at the facts and figures you can see why i didnt do it (crap tyres causing a bad 60ft) but people don't see that bit, they just jump in with the slateing.

Don't be daft. It's all a bit of flogging a dead horse to be honest. I don't know if you have noticed but I extract the urine from time to time. I tend not to focus this in any particular direction, I just say it as I see it. You will find most people are the same when it comes to mickey taking, they don't actually mean what they are saying they are just poking a bit of fun with old clichets. I understand that hearing the same old crap all the time gets old, but let it go like water off a ducks back as it's just recycled banter.

The only real example I can think of is that I would always recommend the Supra to any of my friends, regardless of what variant they were going for. Of course I would warn them that having the N/A will only make them crave the TT, but that's just a natural progression of things. Circumstances will always dictate which car is the most viable option, that's not to say the drive and the aim to always be better isn't right there from the start...... it just isn't possible to dive into the TT or Single straight away for the most part.

This is where lines can get crossed though. There are universal truths that being on this forum for anymore than 5 mins will tell you.

The tuning of the N/A is limited... it is. Every 6 months or so someone comes along determined to prove us all wrong and to crack 300hp for less than TT money. It won't ever happen IMO.

People who buy an N/A will generally want a TT soon after.... they do. More often than not people love the Supra so much that rather than move onto something else they just change to a more powerful variant. This is a great thing for the Supra community IMO and something to be proud of.

There are loads more, but my point is not to get confused between people stating cold hard facts to newbies who think they know it all, and people just taking the mickey simply because you lot bite. The N/A is a fast, sporty, sleek looking car. It just isn't as fast as other alternatives, there are very few cars in the world that can say otherwise though. The only reason this comes up a lot with the N/A is because there are faster stock options. It's like JC always goes on about regarding Baby Astons, and baby Lambos. He always says that there will come a day when you pull up at the lights and the xxxx variant will pull up next to you, that's when you will be disheartened.

No i completely agree with you, i actually cringe now when people say i am going to get 250-300 out of one, thats not my point, i am saying ANY sort of thread started by an NA owner will get a battering off the turbo boys, yes most the comments are in jest but there are a few who actually mean it, you can tell by the general forum manner of each person (yes i study you lot) and to be honest Scott i had you very wrong when i joined.

People always have me down as some 'NA' guru, but i know next to nothing about anything, i just drive my car hard, very hard and i have no doubt that if some of the other NA boys did the same then there would be quite a few 13 sec 1/4 mile NAs around on here (dont know where that came from lol)

£5 says I know less than you. I consider a good day for me is dressing myself and writing my own name without using my driving licence as a spelling reference. I still think just a general NA chat thread to not turn into a TT "should of could of" would be helpful to many including myself. Sometimes I think the struggle to get more out of something feels more rewarding than skipping them steps with a TT and considering the fact I cant be bothered to sell up and get a TT I like messing about with my NA until my circumstances are better.

I quite enjoyed Jakes build thread, I didn't see a lot of bad press in that thread. Same with Robs car. When you bypass the mickey taking people are interested in all forms of projects on this forum. I guess it depends what people are asking, asking the same old question that's been asked a million times and would be found with any search will always be answered with a sarcastic answer (normally by me). I doubt very much you would see a lot of hassle in a genuine project thread, and I am very confident if it was taken down that route the mods would deal with it... and the person.

I say go for it!

It's a shame, it's only taken 5 years and 25k posts, but people are starting to 'get' me. I feel I should leave and register under another name, I've tried different bait but I just don't get the same catches that I used to :(

I had a sexy lass in my local fuel station comment on how nice my car looked when I paid for my fuel, said she didn't often see really nice looking cars like that

The guy who paid after me who's Porsche boxter was parked in the row next to my supra looked a little disgruntled lol

I love my supra cos it looks awesome , has a timeless shape, i prefer my supra over the lambos, ultimas, Porsche, tvr I drive and setup most days, unfortunately it makes my supra seem even slower lol

I just don't think you are putting in the same kind of effort these days :D
