JakeG
The sad thing is they usually put the dog down when things like this happen, when it should be the owner getting put down
Scott
The sad thing is they usually put the dog down when things like this happen, when it should be the owner getting put down Unfortunately, because of the owner, the dog is the way it is now and there is no way it can be allowed to lead a normal life now. At the very best it would spend the rest of it's life in a kennel. Feel sorry for the dog and the family who was attacked, the owner should have the book thrown at him. The Raven
Ive been reading this and the label. "pitbull type" comes up alot just means more chavs will buy staffys coz they are like a pit init. Why on earth someone would walk a clearly agressive dog like that in a park i dont know.
Havard
The sad thing is they usually put the dog down when things like this happen, when it should be the owner getting put down I don't agree. Anyone can own a dog that goes off on one. We took in a stray about 10 years ago and that was a pitbull cross. The dog was great for a while, we reckoned it was only between 6 and 12 months old when we found him late on one night. We already had one dog and they got along fine but then fights started breaking out and generally when we weren't in the room. There were a few trips to the vets for stitches for both dogs and we couldn't work out who was the problem although I suspected the new dog. Eventually a pattern emerged that Buster, the new dog was great with people but as he got older he felt the urge to become the "top dog". In the end, after 18 months and nearly £1k in vets bills with attacks on our own and neighbours dogs, I took him to the dogs home and let him go. It looks as if he was a gypsy dog and had been bred for fighting. The thing with this situation in the park is that the owner walked away from his reponsibilities. You never can 100% trust a dog which is why my kids never go to their Grandmas as she has a psycho Rottweiler, but you do have the chance to do the decent thing when things go wrong. How can you just walk away when a child has been seriously injured? H.
