creative
One for the IT bods! I want to monitor network usage by different ip addresses through my router at home. basically I want to see what device is using what bandwidth. Can anyone recommend a decent free piece of software that will do this. TIA
stevie_b
Do you mean IP address, or do you mean MAC addresses? Unless you've got a super-duper setup, your router will only have one external IP address, and one internal one.
Abz
Just run speedtest.net on the devices Then onto your router to see what is connected This is supposed to be free... but don't be surprised if you start seeing Adware: http://www.spiceworks.com/ We use SolarWinds in the office, great piece of kit. stevie_b
Edit: ahh, I think I see now! You mean the IP addresses of devices connected to the router.
creative
Edit: ahh, I think I see now! You mean the IP addresses of devices connected to the router. Correct! I have about 10 devices connected to the router. If for example, I have guests and set them up onto either the main account or a guest account, I want to monitor what the usage is. I can do it either via ip or Mac addresses.
