Noz
Apart from lightweight pistons, what other components is required to help lighten the internals for increased RPM as well as uprating the valve springs.
Scott
Weight is definitely a bonus but the main thing you want to look at for increasing the revs is balance. Everything has to be properly balanced in order to raise the RPM levels. Virtually every part in the whole bottom end needs done.

JamieP
what sort of revs are you thinking of? High reving 2jz's sound insane.
nige-rz
what sort of revs are you thinking of? High reving 2jz's sound insane. Absolutely amazing sound. Go on Jamie, you know you want to, put a 10k rev limit on the black beast
Ian C
What did they do to that engine to get a fat biffer 2JZ up to 10,500rpm without the pistons exiting stage left?!
Chris Wilson
Fudged the rev counter? Even short stroke 1.6 4 pot engines with real trick all steel internals are stressed a good bit over 10,000, a long stroke floppy crank straight six will be on very borrowed time if it really made those sort of revs, and it doesn't sound anything like that much to me. Ian C
Maybe American RPMs are smaller than UK ones I love the idea you can tell rpms by ear, Chris
Kirk
Just to add that particular engine had full titanium internals and at one point the rev limit was removed completely to see how long it took to let go. In the end, as far as I know, Fabio never managed to kill it even though it was turning silly revs.
