SupraDan24
I've just bought a Dell XPS17 which has the GT 555M GPU so i should be able to play most modern games on high settings. Can anyone recommend any good PC games i should try out, any genre i'm not bothered. I'm looking for something that is solely offline as i'll play it while i'm offshore. Maybe something PC only? Thanks

staples230uk
I got flight simulator X of my inlaws for christmas. I have the GT550 card in mine dan and it works to quuite a high spec. FSX is quite geeky, hence why I like it lol. On the other hand I download a N64 emulator and have goldeneye, mario kart 64 and all the old classics they would burn a few weeks at least. I also bought an XBOX 360 controller for my laptop well worth it if you're gonna do some gaming.

The-Plethora
If you won't have regular access to new games etc you want something that will last. I would choose Skyrimm, Fallout new vegas for starters.

a98pmalcolm
You have skyrim on Xbox? Well that should so go in the bin as Skyrim on the PC looks 100000000 times better!! Battlefield 3 if you have that on the xbox to, in the bin it goes as it looks 100000000 better on PC and you don't get any button delay. There the 2 I'd suggest for now. After that theres Rage, MW2 + 3. Oh and Crysis Your about to experience what gaming is all about mate, no more console malarkey and playing against 6 year olds that got there Xbox for christmas lol
DamanC
Don't be too disappointed if you cant run most things on highest settings as you wont be able too. The 555M is quite a weak card but will still look far better than it will on an eggsbox/PS for example

The 555M is quite a weak card but will still look far better than it will on an eggsbox/PS for example I wont be able to run anything on Ultra settings, i've already looked at the Benchmarks. It'll run pretty much anything on High settings though, only exception i could find was Crysis, but thats been used as the Benchmark for all games for years for a reason ! lol. The GT555M is a good Card for a Laptop, there's not many out there with a GPU better than that, compared to a GPU you'd find in a desktop build its weak though obviously, but that's like saying the tech in a Nintendo 64 is weak compared to a PS3

Detail is ultra, but rest is only high. Skyrim is ultra though. Managed to get the GPU to 83 degrees! Not ideal... PC is so much better as well! Does MKIV have a platoon? Graham1984
Skyrim, fallout 3/new vegas, any sort of sim city or civilization/ rome builder, Command and conquer the first decade. Any or all of them will fill out a nice chunk of lifetime.
DamanC
Oh, no ones mentioned HL2?
a98pmalcolm
Oh god yer the Orange Box!!! Good call DamanC!!!! What a game.. I'v lost count the amount of times I'v completed that... Deus Ex I'd highly recommend!! Its between Crysis and Half life Oh another one that I really enjoyed and was HIGHLY underrated is Homefront.. I still love that game, great Multiplayer better than COD in my opinion and a cool single Player. You could pick it up new for a tenner.. BUT your 1st step is to download Steam (its kinda like the PC version of poop box live or ps network) from there you can browse and download game i.e: Cod, HL, homefront etc. They have silly cheap deals all the time aswell.
