UK clock in a J Spec

Thought I would move this to technical. As to follow the discussion is not appropriate in For Sale/Wanted.

Does anyone know if the UK clock can just be plugged into the Jap spec clock/plug/loom, will the temperature be shown, or do you have to pick up directly from the sensor in the front bumper to get the signal for the temperature readout.

I would assume its possible as you still have the temperature sensor for the aircon...I assume both items use the same temp probe.

Its mounted on the underside of the mouth of the supra. Well I think that's a temperature sensor. It looks slightly like the bobble in the dashboard right up against the screen which is also for the aircon system.

Yes I know the location od f the sensors, I just  dont know if the  signal to the  clock/ temp display comes straight from the sensor or is altered insome way  by the  ECU.

I guess I need a friendly UK spec owner who will let me take the clock out and try it.

Any takers, we have some good pubs round here, if you make it the  first Thursday of  the month we can have fun with some TVR's as  well, at  their  monthly meet.

i've always wondered where the temp sensor is on my uk mkiv.

so it's somewhere under the bumper at the front yeah ??

it's interesting cos in summer when it's parked (NOT facing the sun) and then i start it up the temp. says about 35deg.C  when it's about 28C.   Then when moving it quickly comes back to the "right" temp.

Generally i find the temp.sensor very accurate and useful for black ice warning in winter.
