SkyJawa
OMG! Tight schedule or what! Theory 5th Aug CBT 6th Aug DAS, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th Aug Test 10th Aug Just ever so nervous, hopefully be fine though! Already passed the theory and cbt before but expired, and ridden a 100cc scooter for a couple of years so hopefully that will stand me in good stead

raymanuk
DAS - I think it is the "Direct Access" so you can ride big bikes straight away
psymon
Correct Did mine 18months ago, never looked back. Very Best of Luck... Oh and get early nights you'll be knackered, its a lot of concentration and a lot to take in and you'll be aching all over
John_M
Thought that you had to "serve your time" on the smaller bikes after passing test and working your way up. Has this changed then?
GeordieSteve
That's if you just take your normal test John. You can take your direct access (DAS) on a 600cc+ bike and ride any bike straight away
terribleturner
If you do the direct access then you don't have to start off on smaller bikes. I think my schedule was quite close too. Had to do my CBT on a CB500 which was nice. Good luck Neil. Have you picked up a bike yet??
John_M
Yeah, good luck with the test. You've done the theory and cbt before so know what to expect there. Thought about doing my bike test on a few occasions but, although I can see the appeal of bikes, prefer a bit of metal wrapped around me. SkyJawa
Cheers you lot Early nights and aching eh? bugga - ah well, hopefully it will be worth it! James, not got a bike yet mate, will sort one asap after I know if I've passed or not - really would like to have sold the GTR first too but I can see that not happening! Will be one of these though (perhaps a slightly older model):
terribleturner
But if you get the bike now it'll encourage you to pass first time I used to love the Kawasaki, but now im a changed man
SkyJawa
Nothing like riding a Virgin wherever you go I love me ZX's mate, and in its class its the most comfortable bike for riding on so they say which will make it perfect for commuting! Unfortunately I have to watch the old finances while I still have the GTR and am running 3 cars. I've bought the SX, mods, gotta tax the GTR, need insurance on the SX etc etc etc - so really need to sell the Skyline, see where my finances are so I know how much I'll have to spend on a bike Playing the waiting game sucks

Elliot
Well done on the theory! You shouldn't be nervous - you know the rules of the road, and once you've learnt a bit about the bike, you'll love it! It's not like when you first do your driving tests and you know nothing about the road conditions or signs or anything! It's not like you have to do it - it's something you want to do, and something you'll enjoy whilst training. I did the 6 day Direct Access around 14 months ago, never even rid a moped before that. I was terrible for the first day, but got so much better and confident on the follwoing days and only got one minor fault on the test. (actually enjoyed myself on the ride as well!) SkyJawa
Cheers James Elliot - you summed it up mate, something I want to do, and know what happens on the road so I'm hoping it all goes nice and smoothly!
