Just drive a GTR' date=' I bought mine without driving it and it's many times better than I'd ever imagined. In race mode it's the nearest handling to a kart I've ever experienced. But it's the sequential box that is the clincher.[/quote']

With you on that one, it's the one thing I miss most on the GTR

Got the car today and absolutely smitten!

Congrats on the purchase, glad you like it. Plenty of indie's listed over on the owners register that can help you out with servicing.....and temp you onto the mod's slide ;-)

Thanks :) Already VERY tempted by the Litchfield Stage 1 + Gearbox software upgrade lol. I reckon the Y Pipes will make the GTR sound much better just worried about drone...

Bugger the drone, get it done for the few minutes when you're flat out!

hehe lol yeah true! However I need to be a little discreet at work lol don't want to sound too chavvy. However, check this out for noise! (Need to fast forward to 50 secs in)

Edit : Embed fail again lol!

Talk to Ryan, he did my11 transmission upgrade, LC4 and stage 2 (585bhp) a couple of weeks after buying it. Transforms an already capable car into something special. :)

Ah yes, I nearly forgot Ryan is also now into GTR tuning :) Still mulling over it as I have few months of warranty left but really itching after hearing mostly positive story about how simple tuning totally unleashes the beast within.

From feeling the weight of the stock run flat tyres, which are akin to those off my truck, there's a huge amount of performance and handling to be gained by fitting some proper tyres to the thing :) They are quite simply and honestly LUDICROUSLY heavy. If I hadn't been selling these new tyres for one I would never have guessed and blamed it on the 20 inch rims. No wonder the cars are so overweight if the rest of them follows this practice. So next time it needs new tyres put it on something sensible and get some free performance :)

Aye, my "local" HPC recommends only run flats but I can't complain having 2 new rears thrown in with the purchase :) I will definitely think about normal tyres as the run flats are very hard. Also not sure if this is a run flat characteristic or just me being unfamiliar with car but car seems to tramline a lot.

I'm with you on that, what non rf tyre would you recommend?

I wouldn't expect a modern car on stock wheels and tyres to tramline at all. I have only driven two R35 GTR's and both were none tramlining from what I remember, and I particularly dislike any road cars that tramline ;)

Assuming the rims are happy with none run flat tyres I would suggest the imminent new Michelin is worth a look, it's due soon in R35 sizing. If I had one I'd see if it were possible to come down from 20 inch to 19 inch rims and get some tyres with a higher sidewall profile if it was a road car only. I might even consider something narrower, both wheel and tyre wise. hard to say as i haven't driven one enough to form any proper opinion, but I dislike over tyred cars, especially in the wet. Many modern cars have huge wheels and tyres more as a fashion statement than through necessity I'm afraid. They can be so much nicer to drive on more modest rubber, in our fickle climate. I can't see many people who buy the GTR downsizing though, it just wouldn't withstand their perceived peer pressure ;)

It does especially near road markings but I guess this could be down to road surface and weather (don't think the speed would have much to do with it). I will reserve further judgement until I can drive in better weather conditions :)
