Graham S
Years? From what I've read it's a relatively new service in the UK, just breaking in from the US. Didn't you know Windows Phone 7 can do it!
Scott
Didn't you know Windows Phone 7 can do it! True, Microsoft have been doing it for years As a sidenote I installed it on my Galaxy SII and on the iPad today. I can watch streaming movies via 3G on my phone, unbelievable!! edinlexusV8
Ahh ... so funny again ... I have been watching Netflix with a US VPN account for the last 2 years .... Btw windows phones in US comes with a free Netflix app for streaming videos right from day 1 he phone got released in Oct 2010. Windows phone is basically a Silverlight phone and netflix uses Silverlight DRM support to stream videos. So go figure ... There is a lot more US specific content available in US which we cannot access in UK.

edinlexusV8
It is not just about films ... Well I am a bit of a Sci-fi fanatic ... there are a lot more TV programs similar to star trek available to stream in US. This content is not available in UK ... yet. Abz
Which old films did you try Abz? I watched mothman prophecies last night and it was very good considering it's not HD. Also tried out Dirty Dancing (for the Wife) and it has an HD version of that. Most of the things I have tried have been in HD. The only one that was crap quality was April Fools, the quality is OK considering the age and quality of the original film but the picture is about half the size of the screen for some reason. One was a old Indian film, another was Force Of Five which seemed the worst. Other than that it seems pretty good & quick to load films, great on the iPad Oh! Dirty Dancing "For the wife"

Dirty Dancing "For the wife" I'll never live it down now You know how it is though, you want something so you need to convince the Wife she wants it too. I had to show her all the sweeteners like Dirty Dancing in HD, in fact her response was "no, Patrick Swayze in HD". Then it was "oh go on then". TopgunTT
Just subscribed to this now. How often will the films run for before they change them? Anyone know.
Scott
Just subscribed to this now. How often will the films run for before they change them? Anyone know. I can't see them changing them, they will add to the library but they won't take any old ones away. Will most likely be weekly or monthly updates. Bet you cried too I wish more content was available - Wanted to watch Fast Five, Million Dollar Baby & Four Lions At the moment it is a great service at a fantastic price, but not worth the £72 a year as I hardly watch anything. The things I do want to watch I normally just D\L.

Though the idea is fantastic and the price even better! I'd highly recommend it. I have only watched 5!

Scott
So nearly a month on what are peoples views on Netflix? My first payment came out either yesterday or the day before. Still loving it. They have added LOADS of new stuff since I first joined to so I'm very happy with the updates.

I only have 1.2 mbp download speed, Would it still work with internet that slow? If it works in the same way as youtube and downloads in advance while playing the film/video there surely cant be any harm in starting it loading and pausing it to give it a 10-15 minute head start. How quickly would youtube take to load for say a 8minute video and then gauge it from that would be my guess.
Neil-NA
Surely as its free for a month you could just sign up and see if it downloads ok, if not cancel, thats what i am going to do anyways as i'm not sure on my speed.
