F50 spotted! Well sort of...

Went to collect a HU off a member on here & when I spotted at the petrol station, this err beauty was there with the dude pumping up the tyres.

Soon as I drove I was like wow, an F40 but then instantly noticed the tyres weren't very wide from the rear, quite confused I decided to fill up at the pump nearest to him. I got out of the car and had a better look from near the pump and then noticed the bodywork, the arches, wheel sizes, then the dash of an MR2 & finally noticed the badge on the rear said F50!

The dude (who looked like he was in his 50's) noticed me looking while I was filling up smile, I politely smiled back. I then asked him, what base car is it? (I could see the MR2 dash but I wanted to know what he said), not sure if he heard me properly but he just smirked and pointed to the F50 badge. I then just smiled back and said, no it isn't - I can see the MR2 dash. He then nervously smiled and went off to pump the other tyre. We passed each other when I was paying for fuel and he pointed to my car and said that is a lovely car. Which I obviously agreed with, the paint work on his car looked pretty good on his car but putting an F50 badge on what is supposed to be an F40 replica?

I remember on ebay they had a Lamborghini murcielago up for sale which was a mr2 kitted out, Got to say it was another good replica but at times I wonder what is the point of having something that looks fast that is slow...... kind of like my NA now I come to think about it.

It's all about the perceived potential. :)

Ah, I see what you mean. :D

Some of those MR2's had north of 500bhp. I know first hand that they can be monstrously quick, but they'll never sound/handle like the real thing, so why bother!

Well some people arn't happy with the way their lives turned out so have to lie about things like this to make them selves feel better. If I had one I wouldn't lie about what it was because it actually a very clever conversion.
Please don't quote the entire post before yours in a reply; I've taken it out once already.
