Trig
Hi guys and girls! Thought i would pop on here and say hi, and also while im here thought i would ask for some advice! My partner has spilt some drain cleaner chemicals on her kitchen worktop, and it seems to have stained it, i was wondering if theres anything we can do to get it off? Weve tried lots of numerous cleaners but to no avail. Shes moving out next week and the landlord is giving her crap about it. Any advice appreciated! Dnk
The stone is pourus and the chemical will have seeped into it so it wont be easy to fix that. Try contacting a natural stone supplier to see if they have anything but once its stained like that its usually too late. http://www.mandarinstone.com

Any advice appreciated! http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/trig10uk/photo-3.jpg You could always wash the whole surface with the drain cleaner, as your partner may have simply cleaned only a small part of it? Unless the colour is supposed to be a nasty olive Khaki, it's a possible solution, if you'll pardon the pun. Don't blame me if it still leaves a ring, as it may do. There are surface sealers which might bring back the depth of colour once the whole top is washed, if it's too light. Probably should have had a sealant on it anyway to stop this happening. Edit; obviously consult a specialist and then your landlord first. Great link btw Dnk! I'm soon to be the proud owner of a tonne or two of limestone tiles left over from a job at work and they have some great info on there. Dnk
Mandarin stone are very good and i'd highly recommend them. We did my mothers kitchen and ultity room in natural stone and couldn't fault their service, products or prices. It was well worth the trip to Monmouth as we saved a fortune compared to local prices for the exact same stone. I was thinking the same regards the drain cleaner stain but could be risky so didnt mention wiping it over the whole work surface
