pedrosixfour
Why not try one of the other makes of track day tyre? Ever considered slicks or is the car driven to & from tracks?
ManwithSupra
Why not try one of the other makes of track day tyre? Ever considered slicks or is the car driven to & from tracks? Yeah I have considered a couple of others but i am having trouble getting them in stock too. Federal TZ-201's & Yoko A048R's, My plan is to have two sets of wheels, 1 with slicks (which are really easy to get hold of) and 1 set with a tread pattern tyre in case the track is wet so something like the R888 etc. The ultimate goal is to trailer the car to and from track days etc, which if all goes well "should" be sorted by my next track day However if not or I want the option of being able to drive it on the road just beacause I can, I want a set of tyres that can be used on the public road but are good on the track as well. **Sigh**
pedrosixfour
For a wet track personally I would recommend a really good set of proper road tyres designed to handle standing water, I use Bridgestones and they have served me well even without ABS on the car. I would have suggested proper wet race tyres but they aren't road legal, despite being treaded. The R888 are next to useless on anything worse than a damp track in comparison and road legal rubber will cover the eventuality of driving to & from the track. Then you can switch to slicks if your track day happens to fall on one of the three days per year it doesn't rain in this part of the world! AlexM
Have you looked for Dunlop DZ03G's? Michelin Pilot Sport Cup? Toyo R1R might be okay for a 'wet/road' tyre?
