p3te
i will be getting engine parts powder coated (IC pipes, manifold, throttle body, cam covers, top water neck, turbo pipes) and was wondering would the heat effect the internals of any of the parts, mainly this pipe (see pic) now i know the turbo pipes get hot anyway but is there anything inside that could be damaged from being baked 200 degrees in an oven? Same goes for the internals of the throttle body and cam covers?
Rob
IIRC, all the tiny coil springs and plastic bits of the TB are outside, so you'd have removed them anyway. Whats in that box? as if you PPC it the nuts will be coated in place.
hodge
I had all Johnny.Gs engine parts powder coated black when I did his big twin build and he's had no issues with heat effecting it at all.
