engine clean.

hey guys,i want to clean my engine,it's N/A,is there anything that i have to cover?like battery or something with a plastic bag?also i've seen that they use a spray to clean it and i don't have,is it going to clean with just water?

Never had an issue but common sense must be applied. There is no point in firing the water at the spark plug cover as it's a bit of plastic that takes 2 seconds with a cloth. You need to concentrate on the areas that you can't easily get to with a cloth, and stay away from any problem areas. A jetwash has a lot of power but doesn't actually use a high volume of water, hence why these are the weapon of choice.

 

I don't even cover anything up on my car when I'm doing it, I just don't go near the ignitor or anything like that while spraying.

I should of stated the obvious as Scott suggests dont go blasting the electrical bits, having an airline

is handy to as you can blow away any water then spray with a water repellent like WD40

 

The only thing i do on my car is bag up the air filter and use common sense :)
