Graham1984
I sold a laptop for spares and repairs on Ebay at the start of December and have had trouble ever since, I had to open a case against the person to get them to pay which they did and sent the item recorded even though I never listed I would to a confirmed paypal address on the 5th of December which I still have the receipt for. Just after xmas I got a message from the buyer saying the item is being sent back to me as there was a problem with delivery and could I send it after the 14th of January as they are on holiday. I never put a return address on the parcel as it was clearly listed as no returns on the sale listing and it turns out she never had her house name on her fully confirmed paypal posting address and just a number and street name. I went down to my local post office and it seams royal mail sent the package to Belfast to be destroyed along with the other unclaimed or delivered mail which is their usual protocol except my dad is a postman and him and the others at the office said they should of still been able to deliver as there are always situations like that and they use local knowledge to deliver. Apparently royal mail have sent the item to Belfast to early and when I called the salford office they were useless. I have called Belfast head office to try and intercept the parcel which I am hoping they will do and will happily send it to the buyer if they pay for postage again as I think it is fair although annoying. I have emailed both Ebay and the seller and Ebays response was rubbish and did not really answer my question about who is liable and the buyer has not replied yet either. I thought I would see what you guys think as I myself think it is the buyers fault for a confirmed address being wrong although Ebay and paypal normally blame the seller. I for one did not want someone from ebay with my address but do not need the hassle of losing the item and the money for other people that cause the problem if they can't even list their own address right that paypal confirm is where you send the item. Guest rwd
Ebay dont stand liable here in my opinion. You should have put a return address on the parcel if it was sent recorded post. try tracking the parcel on royal mail's website! what does it say? It's highly likely that the buyer will get his/her refund from paypal as they never got the item! However, you might be able to dispute it if you the address on the recorded delivery slip is same as the address on buyer's paypal! you will have to claim your money from royal mail imo. Noz
EDIT: If the item has arrivd but they have returned it they should be liable. If the package didn't even arrive then it would be your fault, with no return address.

Graham1984
Surely having a paypal confirmed postage address means the buyer has listed their address as correct which is where I sent the item so if they can't even list their own address right what chance do I have.
