JamieP
Thread over on supraforums. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?658754-HIS-Motorsports-Supra-Comparision-of-3-quot-To-4-quot-Exhaust! We just recently got a 97 TT 6-Speed still on stock twins and decided to do some comparision of gains from going from a 3" Catback to 4" Catback on the stock turbos. The testing was done between a Thermal Research and Development 3" Catback the car was bought with and was switched with a ETS Titanium 4" Catback! The quality and fitment of the ETS Exhaust is superb and weighs in right around 15lbs! I was surprised with the gains on stock twins with so few mods. Some info on the car: Stock Longblock w/ 107k Miles Stock Twins Stock Intake pipe with KN Filter RMM Downpipe Greddy 3 Row w/ Piping No boost controller Stock OBD2 Ecu w/ No piggyback All pulls were done in 4th on a AWD Dynojet 424x Sound Video View My Video Dyno Video View My Video Edited January 8, 2012 by JamieP (see edit history)

johnny g
It peaked about 1.4psi higher with the 4". That'll acount for some of the power increase, but it'll just breathe much better up top
Littler
Looks like good gains, it's interesting to see the difference it makes
JamieP
Boost plot is at the bottom of the graph, its up and down a bit but very similar.

Yep see that now, good gain although it is hardly surprising to see such good results from the company selling the exhaust, call me a sceptic

Josh
I'd love a BL exhaust. Would it sounds decent on a BPU? Obviously a RR would be needed, but how much would it affect the sound?
fastcar
My mate has a 5zigan exhaust on his supra that is almost 4inch and make mine sound like a p shooter and mine certainly isn't quite
Nic
US Spec Supra? I'd guess the difference would be minimal on a J-spec Supra as you'd probably need to reduce the size of the restrictor ring with the larger bore exhaust to keep the boost level in check.
