fastcar
Hi does anyone know what the electric switch is for on the top of the clutch pedal. I for it might be something to with RPM although I can't see why
hodge
I'm sure it's to do with the starting. Doesn't the clutch pedal have to be depressed before the car will start. I might be wrong though.

fastcar
It could be maybe but mine starts whether it's depressed or not. I can't see what it's for to be honest. I was thinking it might be to do with idle control?

fastcar
I removed mine from the pedal when I did the manual conversion. Can't really do a lot then I guess. Just found it strange as the only thing on the gearbox that is electronic is the speed sensor
hodge
Just unplug it and see what happens.

Stephendjb
It's so the cruise control switches off when the clutch is pressed & the engine doesn't just rev its self into oblivion.
dude
It's so the cruise control switches off when the clutch is pressed & the engine doesn't just rev its self into oblivion. It is for the US market, by law ALL man cars have to have a clutch switch so they cannot be started in gear.

Guest ugp
I fitted one to my clutch pedal for the launch control
dude
Thats the best way to use the launch, the yanks dissconnect these to save wear on the crank when they start the car as the clutch has to be depressed, check SF theres many threads, its why cars without Cruise still have em !!!!
