spikedjack
I'm a scientist and I believe in a creator. I think I'd be hypocritical to do so.. But that's personal opinion

Morpheus
I think I'd be hypocritical to do so.. But that's personal opinion Unfortunately, for whatever reason, we in 'The West' have been encouraged to believe that it's an either/or question; one or the other, Religion or Science, when there are plenty of scientists who feel that they have proven God's existence, albeit through mathematics, which is simply a symbolic representation of ones thoughts, being as it is, just a language like any other. To even suggest that the two are mutually exclusive would be to suggest that all religious people still think that the Sun revolves around the Earth and that, as you say, a Scientist by definition cannot believe in God, not a real Scientist, anyway. Like any subject, if the right teacher explains something to you in terms you can understand or accept, you learn faster or better. I'm not saying that I am that teacher by any means, but I do have a good handle on the concepts involved in explaining how God can co-exist with Science. To be honest it's quite absurd to me now, that there's any confusion atall. You just need the right keys to unlock your mind. There is old Chinese Martial Arts proverb which say, "It is better to wait seven years for the right teacher, than to train seven years under the wrong one." There is also a very profound saying by the great man himself and it is worthy of much contemplation; Confucius say, "If chain still swing, seat still warm!"
