Chris Wilson
I have a data logging system in a race car that stores data on a 1 gigabyte PCMCI SRAM card, at least I think that's the cards correct description. My old Toshiba laptop allowed me to insert this card in a slot and it would be able to copy the data to the hard drive, where the data analysis programme for the data logger would read it. This old laptop has now died and my newer (probably already a dinosaur to computer buffs ) Dell 1720 Inspiron has proven incapable of accepting these cards. They enter the card slot but won't fully engage (connect). I *think* the Dell uses Card Bus, whereas the Toshiba used "something else"? How can I read card data into this newer lap top, or indeed my desktop PC please? Thanks.
Sheefa
Same problem with my old laptop Chris, Samsung R730. You need an adaptor for the SD card if it doesn't read properly even if it seems to activate and flash under your PC drives for a split second. Maybe this is worth a shot? http://www.maplin.co.uk/30-in-1-pcmcia-card-reader-97112?c=froogle&u=97112&t=module
Sheefa
You could always go for an external reader via USB? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SWEEX-External-Card-Reader-3-port-USB-2-0-HUB-CR100-/150377595629#vi-content
Sheefa
This looks like a worthwhile bit of kit actually Chris http://www.datalinkcom.net/usb/U132-E.htm
