And a warning triangle in case you breakdown. I'd also advise getting Euro breakdown cover from the AA/RAC where you can get recovered to the UK.

Its around £65 for full AA cover so not to bad and very cheap should the worst happen

Never driven abroard before is it right you need hi-vis vest's and GB stickers for France ?

Unless you have GB on your number plates. Bulb kits often cited as a requirement. Hi Vis Jacket, Triangle.

Useful bits also are a fire extinguisher and a jerry can for fuel!

this may be helpfull

also :

Radar detectors are illegal in France even when they are not in use. If you are caught with a radar detector in your vehicle, you could be fined, have the detector confiscated, or even face confiscation of the vehicle. So make sure you remove any such device before taking your car to France. This does not apply to SatNav or GPS because these devices do not detect radar speed cameras, they simply tell you where they are, information which is freely available.

Branners or similar will be making a thread with a list of everything you will need for the trip.

A list of where all speed cameras are would be helpful, especially for through that 4 mile tunnel :)

Just want to know if the tunnel ones take a pic of the front or back of the car would do :D

Radar detectors are also not allowed in the Netherlands. Some police are also patrolling with radar detector detectors. So better not turn them on when you're over here.

That tunnel takes a picture of the back of the car. But it does so at the start and halfway trough the tunnel to calculate an average speed. Once halfway through you can relax ;) (halfway point is at emergency exit sign 13. There are 26 in total.)

This applies for both tubes.

Now, now, don't be silly. N/A's will never get that high ;)

There are NA's attempting to make it to Dover? They'd better get a shuffle on or they'll never make it in time.

Is it wrong that I felt bad typing that? I'm not an NA hater for the record.
