Abz
Nearly got decapitated yesterday! My boot struts are shot, I have a stock spoiler. Anyone used this company? Looks like £60 to replace both, which seems reasonable. http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts/car-boot-tailgate/toyota/supra/gsc2269-toyota-supra-boot-strut

Thing is most of these fail so the stock one isn't brilliant, thing is this company is offering 2 year warranty which interests me. If no one has used them, then I'll give them a go & report back. Not sure Jamie, I'll have a look tomorrow, looks easy enough (famous last words). That is awful nice of you but these are proper dead, only sometimes they go up. Happy for you to have them when I order the new ones, I could give them to you at the LMM meet.

barneybrendan
grab them hold at the middle and pull them gently,do the same both sides and your problem is quickly solved. The very slight bend you just put in them causes enough resistance to keep the tailgate open ,but not too tight that it wont shut.Best of all its free. Wouldn't that damage it? Any certain direction I should pull it? Still think I might order a set.
barneybrendan
mine have been like it ever since i had the car 4 years ago.just a slight pull to cause resistance is all you need.I have always done this on tailgates to get me by ,but always ends up staying like it. Brendan - I tried the method of pushing them out slightly and that didn't work.
