Limited mileage companies?

Recommended Posts

wanting to reduce the cost of insuring the supra as i have a runabout now, currently with sky and dropping the mileage from 10,000 to 3,000 has only reduced the cost of insurance but £100 :(

I was hoping to drop it down a couple of hundred!

Anyone know of companies that offer good discounts for limited mileage?

I was considering going for a classic policy?

I'd get a few quotes from other companies & ask Sky to match it, you'll have to do all the leg work I am afraid.

I am with admiral (ex sky customer), they certainly do a good price & excellent customer service.

Classic policy will certainly make it cheaper in most cases, though some policies have increased to 20 years!

My insurance is up in Feb I think...will be shopping around though. Renewal came in for my MR2 and after phoning sky saying I had been quoted alot cheaper they immediately dropped their price around £150!? Why not just give a good quote in the first place!

Yeah I changed it to just social domestic and pleasure, I'm 27 currently paying £690 but my renewal has come thru at £790

I've managed to get it down to £670, but i was hoping to get it to roughly £500 as I'm only using it one weekend a month now :(

Will do a little ringing about once everyone is back open again!

Although mine is only an NA,

I'm 18 and I'm with Admiral. For some reason they would quote me on imports online, but when I called up after paying, they said they wouldnt insure imports. Fortunately for me because I had paid and had quoted them their number they said they had to honour it. The guy on the phone seemed quite pleased for me=]

And before the questions

I'm a design engineer

So despite you being a club member and them being the club insurer you do all the run around and get yourself a decent quote and then give them a chance to get your business despite failing you miserably the first time round....:innocent:

That still sounds high to me. I am 37 with two other cars in the household. No accidents or convictions in a slightly dodgy post code.

It must be your age and post code?

Sky's quote was £790.

So considerably cheaper. The reason I'm giving them a chance to match the quote is that I won't have to come up with a deposit of I can stay with them, plus my other car is insured with them and I has mirrored no claims :)

I can see why your trying to get them to match the cheaper quote but its pretty crap

that they are so far away with their first attempt !!

Over £200 differance is a joke seeing as their the club insurer, its strange how the other companies

seem to get straight to their best price with none of the messing around.
