Graham1984
Under my radio either side of my red immobiliser light I have a switch and the other side is a twist knob which I have no idea what they do, Also by my ignition I have a small round push switch which when the lights are on makes a small red light come on near the brightness control. I thought at first it was a button for the rear fogs but nothing seams any different no matter what I do so any information would be great. It is a Na if that helps or makes any difference. imi
pics would certainly help. From the description certainly doesnt sound like a stock option.
Graham1984
My phone is playing up so can't sort any pics at the moment but even if I could there are no symbols on the any switches or anything anyway so not really much more use than my bad description sadly. I was just using logic with the switch and red light coming on only when the main lights are on as it has surely got to be along them lines.... Either way it is somewhat annoying not knowing. black_widow87
The circular red switch near ignition sounds to me like the rear fog switch, both supras iv owned have had it in this position. Do all your rear bulbs work at the moment?
Graham1984
Yeah everything seams to work but there seams to be no difference in the lights if the switch is pressed and the red led lights up if it is on side lights or when the dipped main beam is on. It is only the rear fog light I am somewhat concerned about as the other switch and the twist knob under the radio don't seam to do anything anyway (that I know of)
seba
Indeed the circular one near ignition should be the rearfoglight mate, every supra i owned had that switch as foglight.
Graham1984
I just wish you could see an obvious difference when it is meant to be on over off. Maybe a fuse has gone or something.
black_widow87
When your lights are on full (dipped) do you have 4 rear bulbss lit or just 2? Its common for people to use a pair of the reb bulbs as fog. Could be that a previous owner has wired it wrong.
Graham1984
I have four lit from side and full. I have been trawling threads and other pages so I think someone has cocked up the wiring.
fastcar
Could be an eject button for annoying passangers!
black_widow87
Do both rear clear bulbs light up in reverse? I have seen some people convert one of those for rear fog.
Graham1984
Yeah both reverse lights work up as they should too plus I thought you had to have a red film over them to use that method for fogs.
black_widow87
Yes you would need some kind of red bulb. Sounds like someones done half a job mate, cant imagine that switch being used for anything else.
Graham1984
Will have to get a mate to have a look at some point, MOT is not due until march anyway just seams odd how it would have been passed the last few years if it was wrong. Never really use the fogs anyway so not too much of a problem.
drift_bear
The round rear switch by your ignition is the fog light switch, both my supra's have had them. If both reverse lights work then check the wires behind the dash (at the switch) and see if there's 1 lose, that's what I had to do on my supra. Both my reverse lights worked and once I checked the switch and found the lose wire I plugged it back in and found that my fog light was wired into my 3rd brake light (LED strip)
Graham1984
Ok I will check that out. Cheers everyone for the suggestions.
