Really! well, i am surprised. I stand corrected. thank you.

but, did they really fly against 262s, attack trains and then drop bombs on ships. It all smells of 'exaggeration' to me.

Must admit I had to look this up but the 332nd fighter group did indeed escort bombers over Europe during the latter part of WW2. According to the Wikipedia page there was also a ground attack squadron and a bomber group which saw less, if any, action.

There's already been one film on the subject: "The Tuskegee Airmen" starring Lawrence "Morpheus" Fishbourne. Its been a while since I last saw it.

I saw that advertised on Sunday. It was put on as a kind of viral though which I didn't like. Seems like they are going to be ramming it down our throats soon enough.

That's what would put me off, massive hype for an average film - does look good though.

This looks quite good too....reminds me of Black Beauty.

Haven't seen the play or book, so the film should be a lot better than it really should be to me. :D

They did encounter 262s, There was an episode of "Dogfights" (an American documentary which is sometimes shown on Sky in a revised form with an English voiceover). You can watch the US version here.

The 262 encounter starts at about 32 mins.

I've not watched that link, but if its the same one I saw, a guy did recount his tale of downing one 262 and scaring off another, but certainly not by being on its tail as was shown in that clip. A Mustang could never stay with a 262, the old pilot described a series of very clever (to me) moves to be able to draw fire on the filthy hun.

The documentary claims three 262s shot down in that mission, three "probables" and two damaged. Does seem a lot for one mission, but hey, fog of war and all that. At least its not totally made up. :)

Hollywood revisionist history film producers are bound to sex-up to a certain extent. Dogfights are supposed to be exciting to watch. I saw a programme years back interviewing a WW2 pilot about his fights with 262s and he said you attacked them by trying to "get in thier way" as the speed difference was too great for a chase.

I doubt a cavalry horse would jump over a tank lengthwise, either :)

Just seen the Prometheus trailer........massive alien(s/3/resurrection) fan so I'm really looking forward to this!

Me too.

Charlize Theron gets her kit off by the looks of it!

(Oh dear, what a blokey thing to say).

I'm sure there'll be scantily clad men in it too, for the ladies, and Ed. :D

Big fan of the first two Alien films and this has all the right ingredients to be a great film, I just hope they don't make it too nicey, to capture all the market, it would be good if it had some of the first movies suspense as well as action.

No body has mentioned "Battleship" yet, the trailer looks ok, but that may be the sum total of the good bits, and it may just be another " how the Americans saved the world again" film, hope not.
