ManwithSupra
Hi All, In my workshop I am thinking about insulating the roof so it stays warmer for more than 10 mins after I switch the heater off. I have read a lot of stuff on the net about different methods but i really want a bit of advice. My Roof is standard corrugated roof panels on a timber frame. The thing is i want to do this as "cheaply as possible" as my workshop is 1000sqft and i only really use it once or twice during the week and weekends. I was thinking of getting loft insulation and then installing it between the roof rafters then holding it back with chicken wire or something like that although i can’t find anyone on the net who has done that. I have read a lot of people using insulation board but what i have seen its well expensive. Any suggestions?

The-Plethora
Raven is your loft insulation guy I think, I would steer clear of anything even slightly combustable.

I doubt that will work very well Richard, the fibreglass will be forever dropping glass particals on you and the workshop, not nice at all, you could hard board over it. Yeah, I thought about boarding it or covering it with Insulated foil to stop dropping rockwool or fiberglass particals, but doing this may be just as expensive as getting the roof spray foamed... Unless there are people "in the trade" that could do us a good price on this?
ManwithSupra
Look into spray on polyurethane foam. Yeah I looked at that, saw the DIY kits and thought they were quite expensive for the coverage you get. Apparantly the results are really good though. The roof area is near a total of 1300sqft.. hmmmm decisions...
