Whats all the buttons next to the loo?

Mate who went to Japan said they have them there, any of our Japanese residents confirm? Apparently it's for bidet usage and stuff. This mate of mine said in his hotel the seat 'clicked' when you sat on it, and without sitting the buttons wouldn't work, so he leant over the bowl pushing down with his hands, and pushed the button - this little chrome pipe came out from the side with a nozzle pointing up - he was staring directly at it and only realised what it was after it sprayed him in the face.

It's an impressive effect, although only if you view it from a specific viewpoint looking in a specific direction I would think.

Well if you are the type of person who likes to take a crap beside the jacks then I'd imagine the artwork and it's lack of effect from that particular viewpoint will be of little consequence to you anyway.

My aunt's disabled and has the same sort of thing, you get a jet of water up yer bum and then a hot air blower to dry it. My other aunt was cleaning the toilet, leant on the seat, wiped the back of the toilet where the buttons are and got a face full of water. No warning, no little chrome pipes, just a strong jet of water right in the chops!

:yeahthat: ON the couple of times I've been to Japan my hotels have had these hi tech toilets. No idea how they do it given the range of body shapes and sizes but the targetting for the little water spray is quite amazing. :)

I've just come back from a month long stint in Japan. One drunken evening a mate and i were chatting about the toilet functions. On the toilet seat was a great big dial covered in Japanese writing (obviously) so he hadn't dared to try it out. I told him it was for adjusting the temperature of the water jet and it was really comfortable and urged him to give it a whirl. I swear to God almighty i could hear him scream from the end of the corridor as he turned the dial up full PRESSURE :D and gave himself what can only be described as an unwanted system clear-out. I still can't look at him without laughing.

This is the toilet of doom lol.

It's called a bidet haha. I lived in Japan for three years and you're actually lucky if you get this as your toilet. The traditional Japanese toilet is like a hole in the ground where females and males use. NOT easy, I promise you that and quite a culture shock when you see one for the first time. The bidet's though are amazing. Some of them have different sounds you can press when you're dropping a load, they have heated seats, and different pressures for the booty sprayer haha. I'd get one here if I could.
