supra digsey
ive always wanted lambo doors on one of my cars so im thinking about doing this next year. ive seen the gas powered kits on ebay.. roughly how much will it be for a mechanic to change the hinges? please dont just say oh i dont like lambo doors as its personal taste and it will be a selling point when i come to turn it around. ashbuster
isnt this something that you could do yourself? that you buy as a kit and you just change them over? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LF914-Lambo-Conversion-Door-Kit-Toyota-Supra-MK-IV-93-02-Direct-bolt-kits-/180666634124?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a10920f8c says direct bolt on hinges
supra digsey
the ones i was looking at are a diffrent size to the normal hinge due to the fact they open normally aswell as up the way. apparently theres problems with the cheaper kits due to the doors being heavy but the new kit doesnt sag but its a bigger hinge so its not really something i would attempt myself. i do most of the work on my bmw maself but the supras my pride and joy lol
ashbuster
ohh lol i thought it was abit cheap when i looked alot of the time ive seen lambo doors on some cars they look terrible because they dont look the same on both sides when there up this is probably due to cheap kits too

Josh
My friend; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?259880-should-there-be-a-code-of-conduct-for-what-to-do-what-not-to-do-to-a-supra As it's your choice, fair enough. I'm not putting it down, but it will only attract a certain type of buyer when you come to sell IMO.
Abz
The last time I drove a Lamborghini the doors didn't go up! The biggest issue is longitivity, a large hinge is fine but think about the stress point of them hinges.
supra digsey
im all for feedback.. just think theres more chance of selling it up here if theres a unique selling point to it.. aka to a daft 19yo with more money than sense lol. and yes i saw tht shocking wrap on the car. i take your point on the hinges though this was my only concern
Robzki
Why are they called lambo doors?

History proves that standard Supras sell quicker and for more. I'd imagine you'd be knocking quite a bit of your selling price with "lambo" doors. I'd imagine you'd be knocking quite a bit of your selling price with "lambo" doors. So I am in a win/win situation? It has cost me next to nothing to keep mine looking bog standard oem, A look I may say is pleasing to the eye and the wallet. I personally wouldn't buy a supra with lambo doors in much the same way I'd steer clear of one with an escort steering wheel or a skoda ashtray

Adding modifications to that probably won't help either. If anything, the lambo doors will remove value from the car imo. Not to mention they look horrendous! If your doing it because you like them, fair enough.... If your doing it because you think it'll help you sell the car at some stage, don't bother. TubbyTwo
Lambo doors have been done to death on various cars so i wouldnt call it a unique selling point anymore. For a decent kit thats going to last its going to easily cost you £1000+ due to the work involved in fitting them properly. Have seen some of the ebay kits and not convinced tbh the doors didnt seal properly for a start.

add heywood
"Lambo" doors are dreadfull... They will make your car look pants. #as said before they have been done to death on Fiesta's and Punto's back in the day, imo you would ruin the car. I remember seeing the proper kits for over £2k years ago, do it cheap do it twice...
adnanshah247
i had lambo doors. trust me dude there a head ache. put them on a civic or something, not on the supra, i fast learned that they dont suit the car at all. fitting is a pig and they weigh the car down a lot as well because they are not light, well my ones werent. Lbm
If you want them, then fine Just don't expect people to be wowed by that mod when it comes to selling it on. It will be for many the reason not to buy your car. So do it for you, not for anyone else.
