this is wholly unacceptable and I suggest we do something about it.

My suggestions for protestation so far:

1. Refuse to pay (a portion) of our taxes when they are due.

2. Sabbotage Petrol Pumps (cut hoses).

3. Refuse to work for a day.

Please add your suggestions, nothing silly please. I am happy to work on getting word about with flyers or spamming the world or whatever, but need to know what the plan to suggest is.

i agree, went to my local BP as i was in desperate need - price now up to 95.9 WTF!! and i wonder why i'm suddenly skint! combined with other taxes, the money is wasted on stupid studies like listenin to such and such music causes accidents..... or puttin up contraflow systems where there weren't any congestion/accident issues in the past, therefore creating problems AND accidents due to bumps in traffic - genius!! :tumble:

i deffo wouldn't go cuttin hoses on fuel pumps though!! that's actually dangerous and i don't wanna get locked up.

it's absolutely pathetic. I want to confront Tony Blair and ask him how on earth he thinks this can possibly be acceptable. What in gods name can they be wasting so much money on that they need to charge this amount for a litre of petrol?

We need to do something, but boycotting a particular supplier of petrol is no good. It's not the petrol companies who need to lower prices, it's the tax that needs to be reduced on the fuel.

I paid that 2 weeks ago, posted about it on here somewhere, nothing will ever get done: look at the last protests, the government said we were all killing baby seals an stopping ambulances, the protests fizzled out and petrols gone up ever since.

Kick out Blair, kick out the EU, welcome our new president Bush is about the only answer.

aye, apparently the UK gets some of the cheapest fuel, before tax obviously :innocent:

i read today that Blair's spent £1800 on make up since he's been in power, maybe that's the sort of crap the fuel tax gets spent on lol

it's just no good. I suppose all we can do is raise our own prices. I have already introduced a £14 call-out charge, making my first hour now £49 + vat, but it still hurts to see how much we have to pay for petrol.

Lots of people can't just increase their wages like that. Being self-employed doesn't make it any easier either, it's taken me over a year to actually do something about raising prices, and even then I have at least one customer who refuses to pay the increase.

Don't take it out on the car! The car must stay - it's not their fault :)
