drift_bear
I get a warning for using the "p" (A small, sharp, local pain) but them im called a R-tard ? is that how it works on here ?? I think some of you need to get used to the fact that people have different opinions. If you must know i very rarely lose my temper at stupd posts, but im fed up of folk thinking that because people use reasonable force that there using violence, ive delt with people like you before that make up false acusations about violence when its not. If i was in the big guys position i would of done the same INFACT i would of used a restraint instead against him in the process of putting him off the train! Well consider the fact that you come along and make a ill informed crass statement full of grammatical errors and gutter language, what do you expect. My opinion of you has already been voiced by others, now if I were you I would quietly shut up.

I am completely with you on the whole reasonable force thing, my problem is that it had nothing to do with the "big man" and i will lay money on it that he only stood up once he noticed that the other bloke was half his size. The big man offered his help to the conductor because he personally thought that the conductor wouldnt be able to handle the situation himself and didnt want to be stuck on a non moving train because of the bawbag! It has nothing to do with the size of anyone tbh, you can be as small as the bawbag but be able to handle yourself, the matter of the fact is that the big guy done a good deed by helping out and doing what alot more people should do and stand up for those who need help. Wow, do you think it's taken that fella ALL of that time to find out how big the scrote was? Bearing in mind, he was half inbetween the seats, with his back to him -- OR, and this is just a major assumption on my part, the Big Fella just thought he scrote was being obnoxious and holding up the whole train and wanted rid of him? I strongly encourage you to have that word with yourself.

James
Relating somewhat to the nature of the video, there is yet another video out now to do with outbursts on public transport. I first saw this one just a few moments ago: Rc8YaVQwPMU
Lbm
I suppose if the scene had been allowed to have been played out, without intervention...? I wonder. The yoof may have escalated his behavior. Perhaps he may have stood up and taken a swing? Conductor gets a broken nose and hits his head on the way down. Ooh. That would change things a bit. Havard
Wow, what a thread..!! After watching it a couple of times I have now come to a conclusion. The video did not show the early conversation which I must assume went along the lines of the old conductor asking the guy for his ticket and him asking to pay for one before he ordered the young lad off. The young lad was disrespectful and abusive on a public train and there seemed to be a stand off of opinions. At the end of the day, the young lad was on a train without a valid ticket, the conductor was aware that the lad didn't have any money so he must have told him that before the camera started rolling. Swearing in front of the kids would have set me off a lot earlier to be honest as there is no need for it. The lad never apologised or tried to give an explanation as to why he didn't have a return ticket. I think at this point the lad expected that if he was aggressive enough to the conductor, the guy would let it go for everyone elses sake. I also think the young lad knew that the older guy wouldn't be able to physically remove him due to his age/strength. The big man then did what no one else was willing to do and force the lad to leave. Once the guy got out of his seat he wasn't going to back down was he? I don't think the big guy was violent as it isn't easy getting someone off a train without you or they getting hurt at some point. Reasonable force was used IMO. I think NA Tony has tried to play a bit of Devils Advocaat (please don't comment on the spelling as it was humour) and it has back fired somewhat. H. pezzler
Its seems that nowadays, people tend to just sit back and watch things happen without intervening through fear of repercussions Its quite refreshing to see someone having an "old-school, no sh*t" approach to dealing with things like this. The lad obviously believed that he could get away with acting like a disrespectful little scrote. I'd like to blame the society that we live in where we wrap our children up in cotton wool; weak discipline in schools and at home has bred a generation of these socially challenged chimps. It made my blood boil when I watched the video of the racist woman on the train the other week .....one day a rain is gonna come, and wash away all the scum off the streets Anyone up for wrapping their cars in matt black and starting a vigilante group

Nemesis
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2073660/Big-Man-Scotrail-ticket-video-Alan-Pollock-throws-fare-dodger-Sam-Main-train.html The big man's going to get it, don't think 'reasonable force' will get him out of it either. Perhaps a whip round for the fine is in order. Scrote boy got what he deserved imo, little graze to remind him for a while too.

Its a shame, but "the big man" will probably get done for assault, breach of the peace or what have you... ...and no doubt the student will get a nice little sum of compensation. Which hopefully will be taken off him by a large fine for travelling without a valid ticket. The little scrote should have checked his imaginary ticket as soon as he hadn't paid for it by the person that didn't sell him the ticket. His conduct was abusive and no one should have to put up with that, if he had left the train when he was asked to then there wouldn't have been a problem. He brought this on himself and has no one but himself to blame. If the guy gets an assault charge it will be a great injustice, the guys dad is obviously just looking for a pay day. stevie_b
Update: the big man has been charged with assault. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-16288101 The big man's approach was overly physical, but I get the impression the lad allegedly without a valid ticket knew how to play the system. He either didn't have a valid ticket and was trying to weasel his way out, or he did but he was *really* bad at explaining himself. Hopefully the lad will be charged with fare evasion. Shane
Oh that's really disappointing. Think I read that poor misunderstood Sam was studying to become a surveyor. Lets hope he gets a criminal record and the RICS wont accept him into their club and he spends his life as an estate agent.
stevie_b
There's more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2076718/Sam-Main-thrown-train-Big-Man-You-Tube-hero-tried-trip-conductor.html?ito=feeds-newsxml I realise the Daily Mail doesn't have a reputation for level-headed, unbiased reporting but assuming it's all true the lad comes across as even more of a weasel. Max Headroom
My opinion is that this is a prime example of how the sheeple are brainwashed in to inforcing the [MOD EDIT: REMOVED SWEARING] system we are all stuck in. Ihope the big man (fat [MOD EDIT: REMOVED SWEARING]) gets charged with assult To remind you, here was your original quote 1/10 for effort. If im not allowed an opinion then i don't see why i should be interested in yours. Picking on someone's grammar is very low but here we go "Well consider the fact that you come along and make a ill informed crass statement full of grammatical errors and gutter language", that should be an ill informed crass statement full of grammatical errors and gutter language mr grammatically correct. jog on...... Jog on.. very good, at least you didn't have to resort to swearing again, its not me that needs to learn that if you are going to make sweeping statements then a logical, well informed observation will go down much better than the arguement you propose. As for my opinion of you, well I will keep that to myself. Now off to do some jogging....... apparently!!!
