McLaren F1, with a top speed of 249.

I'd have thought they could build such a car, most of the things over there have got to be bigger and better than anywhere else in the world.

223mph with the stock limiter. They raised the limiter to hit 241mph at the VW test track. Do a search on PH about the Macca, PH'er Flemke has a blue one (and the Carrera GT in this months EVO).

The new kid on the block has to be the bgatti Veyron for me

A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower

A top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph)

A zero-to-60 time of three seconds

A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds

A price tag somewhere in the $1 million range.

But the 250mph can only be achived when its specifically set up for high speed. changing all sorts on it.

But yeah, nice car.. shame its not actually for sale still :) They're too busy trying to find a non-exploding gear box.

This goes beyond the 'rare' exotic and borders the 'why bother?' in my view.

If you want to feel 0-60 in a couple of seconds there are rollercoaster rides that you can try (so I hear, I'm not a fan)

If you want 0-60 in 3 seconds on the road, then any of the current breed of superbikes will do it for you. You could even find a friend and take you for a ride for free.

More down-to-earth than $1m vehicles that will never really be used on public roads (would you dare to leave it in a public carpark?)
