johnny g
They'll process the claim - and then it'll be checked by a person prior to being confirmed. Usually within a 2-3 week window from the time you've been notified of a rebate. Is this from a Self Assessment?
Rob_Mitchell
No our accountant realised our tax codes didnt look right and we had been paying too much tax, we got given different codes and this is what im being refunded i guess. johnny g
Ah ok - it'll more than likely have to go under a manual review from an HMRC rep. Probably still the same amount of time.

ManwithSupra
Also in addition to your tax rebate, dont forget to claim any PPI if you had any loans/credit cards with it. I got mine refunded the other day
SPG
I finally got my tax rebate after 2 months and I too had the wrong tax code applied, admittedly my code was wrong for 5 years though

Guest Budz86
I got a letter the other weekend with a calculation saying I had over paid and that a cheque would be with me within 14 days but I got it 2 days later. If you've asked them to calculate it I'm not how long it will take though - have you checked the direct.gov.uk website? Might give you an idea on that? The Raven
Funny you should say this, My accountant found some tax form in my pile of work stuff that says im due £600 ish. I never even knew it was there, i just stuck it in the "give to accountant" file. The Mrs got a rebate from 07 the other day?!

Guest Budz86
I remember reading on a letter if you owe the tax man, interest is 3%. If he owes you, its 0.5%! Cheeky robbing ba......

purplewitch
You'll have to work very hard to get through in January with the tax return deadline this month - another week or so and they will just disconnect the phones is it's anything like last year. If they have actioned your revisions though, your accountant might be able to make the claim for refund via their agent online system - if it's showing as available that takes 3-4 days usually Goodluck
