Noz
Hi guys, was just interested if anyone had seen or used water/meth with ulitmate e manage before. hoping to collect my booster NA next week, and would like to reduce changes of det, if i gain anything power wise its a bonus, but mainly want it for water injection. thanks
barneybrendan
you can wire it into the emu and use the extra injector facility if i remember correctly to gain hp,but use it as a safe gaurd they have there own pressure activated switch. Noz
id like to do both
barneybrendan
Id sent Ian c a quick pm as he helped me out loads and really knows his emu
Tricky-Ricky
I have run WI using the additional injector map of the EMU. but you will need to use a high speed valve, which is similar in operation to a fuel injector, in fact you may be able to use a fuel injector if you can couple it in line. Ian C
Ricky will know more than me, he's actually done it I never quite got around to that particular bit of tinkering. Daft question, but would a fuel injector risk corroding up if you ran water through it?

Daft question, but would a fuel injector risk corroding up if you ran water through it? I guess it might, however i was always under the impression that injector internals where made from stainless? I remember years ago when i was into tuning mechanical injection VW engines, a company came up with the idea of using a electronic fuel injector for adding extra fueling, so i wondered if the injector idea would work, given that if still available, the high speed valves that Aquamist used to sell where well over £100 a shot. Noz
here is a list of the kit im considering buying: it has tank.pump, wirring, new plastic line, nozzle and pressure activated switch which is adjustable any thoughts?
Tricky-Ricky
here is a list of the kit im considering buying: it has tank.pump, wirring, new plastic line, nozzle and pressure activated switch which is adjustable any thoughts? With the pressure operated system you have no fine control of WI, its just done by activation pressure and size of jet, adequate if your just looking for a bit of insurance when on boost, and help with in cylinder cooling, but not any good for optimum power, as you really need to be more precise with amounts and point of injection in the load range. you cant integrate the pressure operated kit with the EMU. What kit is it, and what make? Edited December 11, 2011 by Tricky-Ricky (see edit history)
Noz
All I know is its a cooling mist kit. So being pressure activated, it would be a seperate operating system to the ECU. Id like insurance for boost, if possible I'd like to increase boost slightly as well.
Tricky-Ricky
You will get the benefit of it helping with det suppression, and in cylinder cooling, but just don't set the pressure point too low, and don't use too big a jet or you can quite easily loose power, if you inject too much water. Noz
this could still be very useful though, as if i reduce the chances of det i can increase the boost slightly rather that use the octane in the meth?

Just run a mix of 50/50 water and meth, you wont see anything from the meth, unless you run 100% but ideally its needs mapping for, but 50/50 is the best of both worlds:)
