Noz
is 2000 grade the finest you can get? Would this be fine enough to give a really nice clear finish for plastic, e.g. headlights?
leet45single
id go over that with megs plastx to give the final clean look
SupraDan24
I've got 2500 in the garage, not sure how much finer than that you can get though. Get it off ebay if you need some, loads cheaper on there than the likes of Halfrauds. Use 2k grit then megs plastix or G3 compound etc, it'll come up lovely then

jim
I use 2000 grit on mine when cleaning them Noz, plenty of water and sand them by hand until they go White, then machine polish with g3. They come up like new
merckx
I know you can get 3000 grit. Have a go with some polish if you haven't already before you use sandpaper. You can get plastic polish and normal car polish of varying grades also work (T-cut and Farecla G3 etc).
Littler
I refurbed a few sets of lights, I've used 2000 then 3000 and 4000 to finish, followed by a good compound. Really makes them look new!
SupraDan24
2000 grit then a good polish is perfectly sufficient tbh. I'm going to do mine over the winter and thats what i will do and it will come up crystal clear.
Noz
ok cool, thanks for input guys. if the clear lense procedure isn't too hard to might give it ago with my main headlights.
