Supra Kong
Do you guys declare everything on your insurance? Stuff like, fmic exhaust bodykit is fair enough, but what about boost controlers or recaro's? These things really hike up quotes... What to do? ashbuster
you are supposed to declare everything thats different to stock and they ask if it was a factory extra also really if you dont want any hassle or comebacks then declare everything. if you dont and they find out your insurance will be void. insurance company's will try there hardest to get out of paying out so if somethings not declared and they find out then it will cause you alot of crap
Noz
Its highly recommended to declare all modification on your vehicle, not doing so will make your insurance invalid, and you could be sued for liabilities. Its a legal requirement, but its your choice if you decide not to. A boost controller is a performance increasing modification, which would definitely affect your insurance. As soon as mines fitted, it will be on the list.
shaky
You have to tell them everything,on classic insurance all the mods i have done have not put the price up but they still want to know.
ScottC
Personally I would declare everything. If you don't and end up making a claim you may as well kiss goodbye to a payout.
Supra Kong
You guys are right! Was only testing the water! I guess "rather safe than sorry" springs to mind! Shaky, doesn't the car need to be 20 years old to qualify for classic insurance??? Cheers guys!!

mwilkinson
I give a full list down to the blue dash conversion. If I have an accident the last thing I need is an investigation by my insurance company about the validity of my policy.
wile e coyote
I listed all mine and gave them photos
add heywood
The problem is, for some cars on here the mod list from factory is pretty much nearly every part of the car...
tkddav3
i think you might be able to get away with new valve caps though
Dnk
Its not really hard to sit down and write out your mods list even if you've done quite a lot. Better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.
Josh
I can't imagine the problem some of you single owners have. When I was doing quotes on Getrag's J-spec BPU (when I was looking for one), I had to explain what pretty much all the mods were to every insurer I spoke to. Easy, you send everything you have done via email to the Insurance folk. They look at it, then go no problem and give you a price. Or a simple GTF
Guigsy
Depends who you speak to. With sky I just read them my spec list and they make a note of anything they need to know.

Or a simple GTF It's not rocket science I made my list, double checked it, took 6 photo's and sent the lot to my broker, kept a copy of the photo's and list on my pc job done
