fastnfurious
was checking the spare wheel tire pressure yesterday and spotted a water pool causing some minor rust on the spare wheel lip, got this fixed with some sandpaper and quick-dry spray can. wonder how the water gets in as i've checked the glass rubber seal to be ok, taillamp rubber seal/grommet to be ok, weatherstrip to be ok, no watermark sign on the 1/4 rear window, wiper rubber seal to be ok, antenna rubber seal to be ok... did few rounds of garden hose test and water still gets in somehow, suspect it could be the aged weatherstrip as i've never replaced it before since 1995... any idea? Noz
could it be material is damp somewhere in the car, causing it to condensate in the spare wheel compartment sides and collect as a pool of water? do you get misty windows
fastnfurious
checked the bonnet insulator and all dry, no soaking neither damp (no smell either) and no misty windows. could it be the aged weatherstrip causing water to sip in somehow or via the bolts securing the boot lower stopper rubber? Tyson
Can you add your Supra to the UK spec register please You said you would a while back but you must have forgotten. It would take but a moment of your time. Thanks Mike
Dnk
Fold the back seat down and get someone to lie in the boot while you hose it down from the outside Dry the inside off first and put the hose in a certain area, starting low down and work your way round the tailgate. Supra Gaz
You could locate the leak by putting some toilet paper around the seals, spray the boot area again and wherever the paper gets wet you have an issue. Job done.
fastnfurious
thanks guys, will try all those methods suggested and wish me luck in finding the leak point. SupraManUK: original color is Blue (kinda dark tone, not too sure what's the actual color name for it)
